I have never loaded for this caliber. Does anyone have any good starting point? I would like to shoot heavier bullets, 110gr and up.

I have had good luck with these max loads, but you would probably want to work your way up to these.
100 gr TTSX & Scirocco - 74.5 gr RE22, 3790 fps
74.5 gr IMR7828, 3770 fps
110 gr Accubond - 73 gr IMR7828, 3620 fps
69 gr RE19, 3640 fps
71.5 gr RE22, 3590 fps
115 gr Partition - 72 gr IMR7828, 3500 fps
70.5 gr RE22, 3470 fps

I use 110 grain accubonds in my loads. Love them.

This is a cartridge I have been very interested in for a year or 2 now. I'm interested to see if there is anymore info anyone has. Not trying to hijack... just want to learn more about this round also. Seems like it would be a smoking little deer round and great for yotes!

72 grains RL22 with 100 grain TSX bullets.

110gr Accubond's in a 25-06 is a lethal combo, in a .257 Weatherby. It should be flat devistating.

I am leaning towards the 110 accubonds or eldx. Would you guys use it in elk? I know shot placement is key, but the energy seems like it would be there.

I've killed Elk @ 200 yards with a 90gr Accubond at 3000 fps. Yes, I would use it on Elk.
I've also shot several with it necked up a bit.👍 It will out run a .264 Win Mag when it comes to accuracy at higher velocities.

A good friend of mine has shot several elk with 100 grain TSX bullets out of a 257 Weatherby with excellent results. Some of the shots were in excess of 400 yards. I wouldnt consider it the optimal elk caliber but it is more than adequate. The 110 grain Accubond should work well.

I want one of those!

I've been building points in Wyoming for pronghorn & deer for a few years, and wanted a flat shooter for the future hunt, so I bought a Rem Mod 700 in 257 wby. I haven't hunted anything with it yet, but it is fun to shoot. With the velocities I'm getting, I'm wondering how much bloodshot this speed demon produces. Anyone had any bad experiences with that?

80gr of 8700 F215 COAL 3.275 berger 115gr @ 3400fps

Well you just determined what the next rifle I am building is going to be lol! I wanted either a .257 wby mag or a custom 6.5 cm... now that I have seen your dies I am going to build a custom 6.5x257 wby for pushing 140 gr bergers. What kind of MV are you getting with your loads from that setup btw?

You will enjoy it
I have a MK 5 in 257 and I think there’s at least 5 guys in our deer camp with them

I have a Dakota 76 in 257WM, it likes 100 gr factory Weatherby real well.... I would not hesitate hunting anything in the lower 48 with it at all... Kills real quick! DRT!! :)
