How old is the big boar in the pic??
-
He’s dead.
-
Correction.....Was
-
How big was he? Males reach sexual maturity at 3-4 years, but rarely get breeding opportunities due to competition from bigger older boars. They grow rapidly to around 5, but unlike sows boars will continue to grow bigger throughout their dominant years. He could be anywhere from 6-14 I would estimate.

Couple more guesses and I'll post the age. He also was 1 1/2 inches over the Boone & Crockett min. score.

Nice bear. I killed a west side bear in August that didn’t even come close to that size that was 15 YO. :yike:
-
Beautiful bear. I guess around 6'4".
-
Definitely over 6 foot. His body is so big that it makes his head look small... and if he made book, then he's got a BIG head...
I'll guess 6' 6"
-
6'5"
-
6'8"
-
4 yrs 5 months

I just got my spring bear info back. Mine was 7 years old, have not scored him yet, but he squared 6' 61/2"
-
As for his square 6' 10"
-
21 1/2" Boone & Crockett Almost 7 ft sq.
-
21 1/2" Boone & Crockett Almost 7 ft sq.
That's a really good head for an eastern WA bear, got to be one of the biggest from E WA!
-
21 1/2" Boone & Crockett Almost 7 ft sq.
Does that mean I win the estimate?!?! :chuckle:

You are a winner winner winner Mudman
-
:rockin: Lucky guess. Its an awesome bear!
-
From looking at the ear set I'll go 18.5" skull; 6'4' square hide measurement and 11 years old.

That's an impressive beast. Should be pretty close to WA state record?

Looks like it’d be #3 in the Washington book.
-
So what's the hunt story with this bear? Did he come from Stevens County? Any pics with the hunter?

You had pictures up here at one time. Did you delete the thread? I looked briefly but couldn’t find it.

The hunter was harassed at work so we took it down...

By hippy liberals?

Yeah people who are completely out of touch with the natural world get crazy emotional about bears. Maybe a video of that boar killing and eating a few cubs or munching on a live elk calf would change their perspective.

Wow - I was WAAAYY off!
-
For the record, this might be my favorite Washington bear killed of all time. And a brute.
