Ya like how he was biteing that dead coyote , and the other coyotes got shot cause they thought it was attacking that dead coyote. :chuckle:

I believe some Colville natives use them regularly. Yeah, that was a great video!

You think a guy could get away with having a "service dog" for emotional support with him on coyote stands? :chuckle:
I'm guessing they might see through that one :chuckle: :chuckle:

What is the purpose of the decoy dog? Never heard of or seen it before?? :dunno:
-
Looks like mom spent some time with a lab or other black dominant breed, good shooting
-
Is it just me or did those coyotes look as though they had a lot of domestic dog in them too. Very cool video though.

That's an awesome video, but where does every other hunter find such willing to die coyotes. When ever I shot one the others take off like a "bat out-of-hell" and never looks back. :)
-
That’s because you’re not using a decoy dog.

Seth Simpson in Nampa ID trains decoy dogs. He uses a shag and has a pet coyote that he uses as a decoy as well.

@b23 Different locations have different color genetics. Some places have a lot of variation. There was a coyote study done with tracking collars done back East. Mark June (and company) trapped and collared 37 coyotes, 12 of those were black.

About six years ago I got to hunt for a couple of days in eastern NM with TT and his dog Gunner. It was a great time.
Last week at the Predatormasters Convention My nephew from SLC and I called in a pure black one near Carlin NV. It was pretty cagey using sage and a the crest of a hill (all we could see when he got to the hill was his ears bouncing along just over the crest)to get down wind, we did get a good look at him in the sun when he first came in but no shot. We did kill eight during the week.
