Title: Fly fishing classes?
Post by: aman on February 13, 2018, 02:49:55 PM
I'd like to learn how to fly fish. I don't have any prior experience or equipment. I live in a Seattle greater area. Do you have a recommendation for introductory classes?

I know Reds is going to have a big free intro to fly fishing day in mid-April, would be good to check out.  I also know the shop in Issaquah teaches classes on a regular basis.

Any of the local shops usually offer classes.
Follow Red's on Facebook if you're on FB. They have all kinds of classes.

You might check out Trophy Lake Golf & Casting. They have a class that teaches the basics plus you get to fish the lakes.

Wearing out your arm steelhead fishing, your eyes bonefishing or catching little trout?  Advice would vary with your goal.

I think the Seattle Fly Fishers offer casting lessons for real cheap. I took the 102 fly class from Reds and its was a good deal.

Keep an eye on Groupon for Dickson Fly Fishing. They used to offer a great deal on intro to fly fishing/casting classes.

I've fished with Mike Dickson.  He's a great guy, patient and knowledgeable.
