Took almost a year to do it, but I finally found time to wrap up my frame and get this baby on the wall. Looks dang good. First head on the wall in the house, we'll see how long it takes the wife to find it. :bdid: :chuckle:

Nice buck, nice mount, that looks really good.

Very nice!

Cool looking mount

Nice! If she doesn't find it right off you need to hang as many as possible before she notices.
-
Looks great! How did you get that character with the wood that you used?

Which character do you mean exactly?

Looks great man, what are the numbers on that bad boy? Width?

Width was exactly 27" inside. I never have scored him, don't really have any want to. Guess he might be 160-165? Just a gorgeous buck.

Unbelievable representation of the species. I could look at him all day.

At a first glance in my cell phone I was like “oh that’s a nice elk”
Then I actually looked at it and was like... “whaaaat”
Too cool man. What a memory

Thanks guys, it was definitely one I won't forget anytime soon.

Killer mount. It looks awesome. I like the idea of bringing the barn wall into the house. Instant classic.

Thanks guys. I'm getting ready to do a larger version for my elk from last year. I'm trying to decide if I do one that is basically 3x the width of the skull like I did with the deer, or do I go larger and frame the antlers in as well? This is not a great photo, but something similar in size to what is hanging above the fireplace. I'd do it barnwood though, or some version of that.

I like the 3x scale you did with your deer. The antlers really pop. The larger frame would still look cool but might not showcase the skull as well. :dunno:

That's what I was leaning towards. I'll update when I have that one done too.
