Figured it might be time to post some photos and info about the season so far.
A few people I know were having real bad coon problems so I did them a favor back in November. Got five the first night and three more over the next week. They smarten up real quick when they watch their buddies get stuck in traps!
After that, I figured I'd wait until late December when their hides were closer to prime until I made a full effort on getting fur. I set all my swim throughs a few days ago and got a very large otter on day one, a 55 pound Beaver on day two and today got a smaller otter and my largest Beaver ever, 57 pounds!
These traps were set in the same spots I've been trapping for the last 6 years and they seem to produce pretty consistent every year. Last year there was almost no sign in all these spots and I ended my year with just two otter and two Beaver. This year these spots are loaded with fresh sign everywhere so hopefully I can get a few more.

Waded through the flood waters yesterday to check traps and got a 35 lb male beaver and let go three different coho salmon. Surprising that there is a run of coho this late into the season. One was actually a decent looking buck that would have been worth keeping if you'd caught him on a pole.
Ground up the first two beavers with a 5 lb pack of pork loin and ended up with 25 pounds of sausage.
