I’ve been available for an older gentleman to help pack if he kills a bull in the white river. Been on call so to speak, he’s in his 70’s and waited years to draw. Well yesterday deer hunting on my way out I crashed on my mountain bike, ribs aren’t broke but I can’t lift a thing much less elk meat. There are some very generous people on this site and I was hoping to line up a couple helpers if he should get lucky. Also have a buddy who has a buddy that just received a terminal elk tag for the white river unit, he can’t walk much, any private property owners in the white that have elk and willing to fulfill a last wish?? Thanks Huntwa

If I were closer I’d help in a heartbeat. Good luck with your search!

Same here. I know someone will step up when you need them.

Thanks, I almost wish they were, now I’m in this pain for just a contusion!!

Sorry to hear you are hurting, what about a couple shots of fireball? That might fix you up!! I would volunteer, but I can't even get out and deer hunt at all next week cause of work. Hope you are on the mend soon.

Fireball!!! Oh heck no, crown all the way! PM’s answered, thank you guys!

Still looking for a land owner to help out a gentleman who is passing on, can’t imagine my last hunt and how emotional that would be.
-
I only have the next two days, but if you get in a bind give me a call. I’ll PM you my number.

Amazing how hard access around Mt Peak is given the amount of complaining coming from the “farmers” about the elk.
I’m local if you need help packing. Sorry I can’t help with access :(

Agreed. Some people get access tho, maybe it will work out. I’m happy to help pack. Got my own cartilage tear in the upper rib cage but can rally to help if needed!

I'm available to help pack out, I am in Bonney Lake. Can make it just about any day of the elk season - love skipping work to go to the woods. I'll PM with my contact info

Good tag, but not an easy tag

:yeah: especially this time of year, not a given for sure.

Has he seen anything yet? What areas has he been looking? I was driving on the 72fs road Sunday and came across a huge bull standing in the road as I came around the corner. Seen a few spikes off/in the road up near lonesome lake area as well.

Peak is in the Puyallup unit- Jerry I am also close and you have my number. Not much for land owners except greenwater and most everyone I know up there doesn’t own much for property but if he sits up on those cuts above the ranch or as mentioned the 72 he will see something.

@notellumcreek - thanks for speaking up! I'm not sure how I always misunderstood that. I was positive that was 653 over there. Must have always associated the left side of 410 as 454 and the right as 653.
Thanks!

How is it you have not texted me for help?????
-
Haven’t needed help yet ross, lol. I have your number!
-
His text to me.
I came home yesterday afternoon. Needed to regroup. Heading back up on Sunday I think.
I passed on a shot at a huge Spike on a ridge top yesterday morning. 716 yards with a 30 mph cross wind. I didn’t know where the road was he was on and didn’t want to wound him and lose him. So I passed. Found the road an hour later. He was long gone.

Hope he can still find a good one

Thanks to those who have offered to help pack. Still no bulls. Cows and calves most everyday and lots of hotel expense and gas. I spike would be great at this point. Thanks trophy hunt for rounding up some help with possible packing. I’ll call if I get one down. Thanks. Any of my fello white river hunters that were successful have an ideas for me besides the 74 road? I’ve been all over hancock both sides most drainages. Any help is appreciated. ( Scott I’m big al) the old fella but not the man with the special tag. Pm me.if you want.

Gamie told me to check out the West Fork and his Intel paid off. Theres a lot of nice select cut clear cuts over that way. I would walk some of the spurs into the cuts. It fairly easy walking down there.

HI folks,
I am Big AL the older fella Trophyhunt was trying to help if I got an elk down. I came close one time but did not succeed. I just wanted to say many thanks to Trophyhunt and ALL the guys who stepped in to volunteer help and availability to help pack. YOU were all appreciated. I hunted 12 days and covered a lot of ground. I saw elk on some days, all cows and calves. Several White collared Cows. A special thanks to Jon for hunting with me opening weekend, and all the fellas that offered suggestions as to where to go and where to look. I pretty much completed everyones suggestions BTW>
All in all a discouraging hunt for me and expensive, but lots of beautiful bluebird days to reflect on life, and enjoy Gods beauty, especially up close and personal with Mt. Rainier. Thank you everyone. Your kindness was greatly appreciated.
