Title: Election Year
Post by: Trapper John on January 20, 2020, 08:13:31 PM

Hello Folks   :hello:
Yep it is Election year for WSTA Officers and some Directors.  Positions Open are:  President, Eastern WA - Vice President, Region 2 Director, Region 4 and Region 6.  There are several county rep positions that need to be fill also.  Contact Bruce or myself.

Below is what I had in our Fall issue of The Fur Shed.  Please read all of it and think about stepping forward.  We (a few of us) can not keep doing it, you need o step forward and bring us into new directions.

** Election this year for WSTA President.  Bruce would like to step down to open the doors for someone to step in as President.  Bruce has served us very well for the past 12 years.  He has been one of the longest sitting Presidents of all of our Presidents since this association was formed back in 1967.

Someone once told me that if you have a good person doing a good job, it’s like a good horse, people will put a saddle on him and ride him until he drops dead.  Well, we don’t want that for Bruce.  He has done his time and now it is your turn to look at yourself and step up to the plate and bring the association into the future.  With Bruce living close to Olympia, anyone in Washington State including Eastern Washington can step up to the plate and become the President.  Consider running for this position or any of the others.  Some times change is good.  A new person and people come in with new ideas.

Bruce is not going away.  We want him to stick around so we made a “New” position for him.  His New Title will be: “Government Affairs.”  He will not take this position until the end of his duties as the President which is this year’s 2020 Summer Rendezvous.  This is not a new position, we have had it before.  Bobbie Thorniley had this position for years and represented WSTA at all Sportsmen and Legislation meetings.  This is where Bruce needs to be as our "Public Affairs" Representative.

Bruce’s duties will be to represent WSTA and our interest at all Department of Fish and Wildlife, Game Commission and Legislation meetings and hearings.  He will be reimbursed for all of his expenses for attending said meetings include hotel and vehicle / mileage i.e..

So Guys and Gals it is time for you to throw your hat into the ring and put your name in for consideration for a position and to become an active member of WSTA.
JC   :hello:

I would say the next class that is closest is going to be at our Summer Rendezvous in August at Cashmere.
