Was out camping for the weekend and when out for a drive my wife spotted a moose! Just 80 yards or so off the road. Really neat to see. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200621/33d71dcdce8b5d7bc816fecec60c56f2.jpg)

Seen lots of Moose over the years I lived in the Methow. Had to repair a huge section of new highway fence one day when they were finishing up the highway project into Winthrop. Having coffee in the kitchen of the boss's house and it walked right past the window in front of us. Drove down his driveway and seen the big hole in the new fence, walked right through it, pulled out wooden post and bent four T-post over. :bash: :bash: The day before it walked across the highway right in front of one of the flaggers, had to laugh, he looked like he wanted to run BUT to where!

Did he stop the moose with his sign or allow it to proceed slow?

Video of a couple I saw there a few years ago

Maybe they are making a come back, or maybe they were already there in decent numbers? I have seen one or two moose per year in the upper Methow Valley for the past 3-4 years.

Over the years I found three areas in the Methow that always carry moose, don't know why they preferred the areas, but On any given weekend we could go into any of the three and see moose.

Is that up south summit/Benson creek?

Good one! Thanks

Is that up south summit/Benson creek?
In the early 90's I was falling timber for a helicopter outfit, this one drainage on the N.summit had several moose, including one nice Bull we flew over. One of the crew for the helicopter found a huge drop horn while we were there. For several years I would go through there and never failed to see moose sign. haven't been in there for the last 10 years, so things could have changed.
The other two areas I mentioned still have moose...
