I have a nylon alaska type chest holder from cabelas that rides under your arm or on your chest. Very happy with it. Keeps my S&W 44 snug as a bug and easy to get at.
-
I have this for my .44 Alaskan . Clips to belt loop and over shoulder . Pistol rides next to bino harness
-
I'd say diamond D chest holster or kenai chest holster.
-
I had a Simply Rugged pancake, when I had a 4" Redhawk, and it was comfortable and protective enough. They make a chest harness for it as well.
-
i was going to buy a diamond d, but ended up getting a "man gear alaska" chest holster for my 4.2" redhawk. it was half as much(and i had a bunch of cabelas points to burn). very comfortable to wear, and very adjustable. sort of a tanker holster that you could wear on your belt in a pinch as well.

They are expensive but, Gunfighters Inc Kenai is a fine holster. I can wear it under my bino harness and still have clean access to my pistol.

.
I got one for my 6" 686 and forget I am wearing it because if is so comfortable.
Showed it to my neighbor, and he had to buy one himself.

Simply Rugged Pancake with the optional Chesty Puller rig. Shown here with 3.75" Ruger SBH but also fits 5" BFR with a little barrel showing. Carries nicely on the belt as well.

Hi,
Personally not a fan of chest holsters so,.... been carrying my Dan Wesson 4inch 44 in this on the hip for years:

Nice thing about those is the chest harness is add-on, if you want it.

I bought one of these last night to try

I love the Simply Rugged holsters. I have one made for a 4" Redhawk that's been used for just about every model of mid-large frame revolver you can think of other than the big X-Frame smiths.
-
After getting an Encore and looking at how much for a Simply Rugged Custom or another one for my 7.5 RH once I scope it, I am thinking I am heading on down to Tandy to tool up for some "Custom" leather projects.
-
I prefer chest holsters. I own 3 Leather, 1 Cordura, and 3 of the Gunfighters that are a rigid plastic type material - high quality, fit great, but noisy compared to Leather or Cordura, but great company and quality products.
-
Have a Gunfighters Inc chest holster for the 4".
My preference is a Bianchi 111 Cyclone crossdraw for the longer Super blackhawk.
Can drive logging roads in comfort (barrel hangs past the side of the seat) & busting brush I slide it in front a bit so it doesn't catch brush.
The thumb snap never pops loose but is quick to release when a bear pops up in front of you.
-
As far as chest rigs go, i have a galco for my .460 and a diamond d for my .357. I like the diamond d better.
