Title: Fish On!
Post by: HntnFsh on July 05, 2020, 06:52:21 PM
Took SuzyQ out fishing this morning at the crack of...11 am.  :dunno:  Well, what the heck after listening to fireworks until 4 this morning :chuckle:

About an hour later she hooks up and brings a chrome bright 10 pounder to the boat. Being a bit rusty on our first trip of the summer I let it get under the boat on her as it was close to net time and it breaks off! :bash:

Couple ours later and its fish on again! She expertly fights it to the boat and in a very inept way I was able to finally get it in the net and in the boat! Another 10 pounder! :IBCOOL:

Fresh BBQ steelhead and crab cocktails were incredible for dinner! :EAT:

I feel jealously creeping up on me! Congratulations on your skill and not just luck when it comes to steelheading.

Congrats! I noticed your fish bag, I recently picked up two of the same. Yours looks well used, how do you like them?

the fish bags are awesome..  I freeze orange juice bottles solid or a few water bottles.  Keeps the water out and they stay cold longer with teh solid ice.  But they hold ice for a decent amount of time and store on the boat with fish and keep them clean.

Check youtube..  some guys are making them as well and I've seen a few.  petty comparable for a little cheaper as well.

Pretty much agree with what Caveman said. They dont compare to the high end stuff. But work well for dust I use them for.

Fish bags are awesome, they hold the cold and more importantly fit easily in the back of the boat where the fishing happens.  Since they are 1/3 the depth of a cooler or less you aren't tripping over them or moving them up front and then dragging dripping fish through the boat.

I bought mine from Costco but it looks like they don't have them anymore.

I bought mine from the boat show, I picked up 2 of them for $50. It sounded like a good deal since I saw other companies selling them for $35 a piece. I picked them up for the derbies, fished 1 and then they got canceled to covid.
