I have a 22” howa barrel on the reciever that I would like to have threaded. From what I am told it is tough because the barrel cannot be separated from the receiver and the receiver won’t fit through the spindle of most lathes.
Anyone know a reputable gunsmith who might be able to offer a solution apart from rebarreling?
Thanks

just asked my neice who works at benchmark barrels and she said they do them. Give them a call 360-652-2594

It’s round and straight at the end of the barrel. It tapers down from the reciever.
I will reach out to benchmark on Monday.
Thanks all

Often right around that 22 inches in length point is where, depending on the lathe, they have to remove the barrel.
Defensive Edge Rifles has shortened up some of my barrels before they threaded them without unscrewing them from the action and one of them is 20.5 so they could probably do it for you. One of them I had lopped off down to 18in and threaded but it had to be unspun from the action.
