Go up to Minnie Meadows and take any logging road to it's end uphill. There is a spot below Narrow Neck Gap that holds a herd of Yakima Rez elk. once the shooting starts they head over to Klick Meadows. I used to go in from the North Fork of the Ahtanum and camp up by Darland. Drop over the ridge or take a 4x4 towards Blue Lake and then down into the basin the holds the rez elk There are some jeep trails to the east by Short & Dirty trail and Blue Slide. . I shot one years ago in archery season there that had a neck collar on. Sent it in and they told me the bull was collared near White Swan on the rez the March before. There was a herd bull there that my hunting buddy missed...would have been the state record...Big Leroy Brown. I arrowed a 300" 5 point.

For what its worth, I would be trying to find where all the cows are for the next few months. The bulls are very rarely close to where they were all summer long once pre-rut hits.  :twocents:

Been up there 3 of last 4 years riding utv.  Buck canyon is correct.  Blue lake (Green lake too) holds elk.  Also the meadows had plenty sign and summer ?"ritual" kills??  Good luck, we love it up there.

I drew the tag years ago and was into a bunch of elk back behind Conrad Meadows, up around Bear Mountain and back by Tieton Meadows. Lots of country to check out going back from Tieton Meadow up towards Mcall Basin.
