Looks like due to a pending land sale they won’t be selling them. Can anyone confirm?

Yeah it’s true. They sent out emails about it a month or so ago saying Hampton is buying it. Current permits are still good until the 23rd of July but no new permits from Weyerhaeuser this year in there. Supposedly Hampton will be contacting permit holders about future recreation in the area but I haven’t heard anything

Can you keep this updated because I was going to get a permit for the chelan property this year since my folks live at the gate.

Thanks for the heads up. This definitely throws a wrench in the gears for my blacktail plans. hopefully Hampton will offer permits.

Maybe they’ll let hunters in for free like it should be.🤔

I’m not opposed to that either. I’ve not yet purchased one of their permits but I was planning on it this year for the drive in access on one of the properties near my home. It would have allowed me to easily load up my kids and take them with.

Well did a little digging around and this is what I found on Hamptons website. Sounds to me that access is granted expect for high fire dangers. Correct me if I missed something please.

When Longview Fiber owned the lands before Wherehowser it was always high fire danger every year on August 1, imagine that.🤬

One can only hope, but they did install some big gates to keep the trash dumpers out.

Which pieces of the permit property did they purchase as there was a fair amount under that permit? The property up north out of Granite Falls I take it.

It appears they bought all of it. Including the ones along Highway 2.

:yeah: All of it. I bought a permit last July to access Oso hill so I can enjoy my local outdoors without getting a ticket >:(
-
Online it says there closed now.. Most likely for the summer if I had to guess.. This will be interesting because Hampton seems to be open to the public as there policy.. But the fact weyerhaeuser passes sell out so fast and the locations of some gates someone in Hampton might decide to carry out the pass idea..not sure if Hampton gets a sort of tax break for public access or not.. But this will be and interesting situation
-
The new permits through Hampton are $325 available July 14
-
Of coarse it will be shut down most of the year
-
Have enjoyed the N. Cascade/Chelan permit area myself when Weyerhaeuser owned it. Was happy to see the email from Hampton about offering permits. I did notice that the area on the south side of US2, just east of Gold Bar, wasn't marked on their map. I called them yesterday, and they confirmed, that area was not going to be accessible with that permit.

Same but before it went to 647 about 5 days ago randomly and came back.. Have tried to call Hampton many times not the 3rd party and it sounds like a *censored* show.. Some Weyerhaeuser employees got brought on some didnt no one knew a thing.. Wouldnt be surprised if this isnt fixed till tomorrow..maybe there not used to people fighting over land access like this since?

well it says I have a message but I can't load it.
-
They out? Got on but won’t load Washington state. Just as well we buy it every year but never utilize it.
-
I think you're right they're sold out :chuckle:

I believe the system crashed they replied to me really fast with the statement above, probably were not ready for such a load on their system. Keep an eye on your email and check the site I believe there are still permits available they just need to get their system back up. :twocents:
-
I’m good with that. We never utilized it enough to justify buying it.
-
Prolly sold out since this thread posted a month ago.. Internet can be a bitch sometimes

Just got this email.
"Dear Recreation Guest,
Due to unexpected technical difficulty, the sale date and time of the North Cascades permits is being delayed.
Please continue monitoring your email as we will be sending a follow-up email with more specific information.
We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to offering everyone a fair opportunity to purchase a permit.
Sincerely,

Kind of local knowledge. Its quite a walk starting from Highway 2 side gate
I've been going to that area for years. Before weyco when it was walk-in, then walk-in/drive in with weyco passes. Im just curious as to how its local knowledge that you can walk-in with no permit when for the past several years under weyco its been by permit only. Is it posted at the gate now that you can walk-in with no permit? Genuinely curious as I like hitting that area once or twice.
-
Its working again. Over 600 left after i purchased mine
-
Thanks to a tip from a friend I got mine. Down to 550. A little ticked off they didn't wait until 7 again. Someone's going to get hosed.
-
I was on the phone with the 3rd party and she said they had no idea when they were going up for sale as my friends send me a message.. Was the 3rd to buy came up around 1130 this morning
-
Molonlab drove by 2 weeks ago gates wide open with zero signs..i think the locals just walked up and no one bothered them..its not like its very flat up there..however I assume it was for exercise not hunting and they just never got bothered.

So then you know that it used to be drive in to the Hancock yellow gate by Lake Cavanaugh. This was allowed to be drive in due to the fact there was USFS property north of that Weyco gate. Then ass hats were dumping garbage and shooting up logging equipment. Thus they started locking the gate off highway 2. So you can park and walk in since there is USFS property. But your not allowed to walk in past the Lake Cavanaugh gate without the permit.
-
What's going on with permit sales? Though I bought mine earlier I can't find the property listed anymore.
-
I see they set out another email. Did you happen to read the rules they say not camp fires or camping. I'm fine and understand the fire but not camping...
-
As of 5 minutes ago they have 543 left
-
Anyone else having problems again?
-
It took me until about 7:30 to get it to show available for purchase, clicked on it and I was done in two minutes.

Same.

Only 202 left
-
Okay, I caved. I got one even though I never “utilize” it. It took until 7:30 to get though.
-
Just purchased one of the Hampton permits and was going thru the do:s and donts and see they don't allow trapping or any campfires on the permit area

Neither did Weyerhaeuser.

I got one yesterday morning. There were still over 100 left.

Did anyone see anything about when the key will get sent out or what the deal is with that?
-
I emailed them this morning, they replied that keys and tags were getting sent out soon and to make sure your address is correct in that third party website that you bought the permit through
-

. I was wondering the same thing myself. First time buying this permit.

Just got home checked the mail box Hampton access permit and key showed up today

Who did you email? And how long did it take to get a response? I am trying to get ahold of them to see when they are going to come out the new locks on the gate. Went to go in Sunday and the old lock was still on the gate and could not get in.
-
Got mine 3 days ago. Haven’t tried it yet.
-
Says on Hampton website that all Areas of North Cascades are closed due to fire danger. Went to check the gate on Mountain Loop highway by Granite Falls and it had multiple locks on it none of which my key worked on.
-

That’s the gate I was wanting to email about and their page says all areas are open except chelan.
-
Right below that on Hamptons page it says general access rules for North Cascades, area is closed due to fire danger.
-
Anyone else having a tuff time finding the rules they said to check out in the letter that came with the keys? Weyerhaeuser had their rules pretty well spelled out as far as the do's and don'ts but I am just not finding them for Hampton.

. I emailed Hampton and they did confirm that the closure is for Chelan County, was a little misleading on their page. Did go to the gate that I believe is the access gate near Granite Falls still has the Weyerhaeuser sign stating access by permit only, gate was open went and checked my key on the lock and it wasn’t even close to working. Since this is my first time buying this permit is there a different access gate? Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Hampton web page go to recreation scroll down to general access rules that’s where it says what is allowed.
