We have a 9 and 11 thread, figured we should add a 10 thread. Here’s my fish from the morning.
-
very nice !

:IBCOOL:

Well done!
-
Very nice! If memory serves correctly you generally do pretty well out there.
-
The kid joined me today and we found a couple good ones. His took it off the rigger on the way down, maybe 20’ under the boat. Right at the early tide change. Mine was about 9a near the bottom, 130’ on the wire.
-
Very nice

Just seeing these photos makes my heart cry out to the poor underprivileged orcas that will go to bed hungry tonight 😥 4 days till I'm on the water again

They should have been told "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit" when they were little and they could be munching on furbags all night and day like their transitory brethren.

:chuckle:
Speaking of fur bags...we were half asleep yesterday as I was reeling in a 16" blackmouth to release. When I swung him across the water to grab the leader, a seal jumped a solid 3-4' out of the water right next to the boat to take a swipe at the blackmouth. I grabbed the fish to release him, and the seal laid right next to the boat for a second looking at me with the fish in my hands. I waited a few seconds for the seal to move, then released the fish torpedo style to give him the best chance of escaping. Saw the seal without a fish in its mouth about 30 seconds later, so think our release was successful. Holy cow that will wake you up in a hurry!
-
I've seen my share of seals at the boat but have never seen one come more than a head and flipper out of the water, that would sure wake a guy up.
-
Got out yesterday morning and found a couple. Also had a pod of orcas come through, thankfully that didn’t kill the fishing. Got my fish around the 7:30a tide change.
-
Good ones, junior is almost taller than you :tung:
-
The bait is a lot bigger this year. Have been doing well with larger spoons and plugs for the kings. Standard ace high has been the ticket for the silvers.

:yeah: All the herring I’ve found in their bellies is big.
-
This got me looking back at last year’s photos, check out the belly from this MA10 coho. Those are not herring!
-
Two more this afternoon this thing is putting in some work
-
Was out of town, so today was my first day out since end of July. Found a nice king at first light, but took me til 8 or so to find a coho. King is 33” and just shy of 16#. Tons of large herring around, the birds and porpoise we’re having a field day.
-
It was a grind to get our fish yesterday. Hot and smoky. Lost a nice one at the boat in the am :bash: Did not get our kings until the midafternoon tide change. Larger spoons in the dirt were the ticket.
-
Beautiful fish!
-
NICE
-
Lots of company this morning :chuckle: This 9.7 pound king cut well. There is a silver in there for reference. Released a few pinks as well. The plug is the drug.
-
Biggest of the year for me yesterday 12.8 pounds
-
Great big wild from this morning.
-
That is a very nice fish
-
I think I caught his brother this morning :chuckle:
-
I had a lot of big unclipped fish this year, while fun to catch always a bit of a heart breaker.
Hoping the bigger coho round the corner soon. I know in the past i've caught nicer fish well into the end of Sept..wondering how the hotter weather may change the timing this year
-
A little rain tonight, looks like more tomorrow, should be enough to get a few ocean coho here next week. Now that kings are done, come on coho!

It seems to me that the coho come in earlier in pink years. Some just can't help wandering in with the schools of pinks. I have caught ocean coho this last weekend of Aug and Labor Day weekend in the past. I won't be out there this weekend though. Good luck if you're out there!

Ask and ye shall receive!

im about maxed out on PTO days right now so ill be doing some half days for the early morning fishing here soon
-
Not a ton of ocean fish yet, but the ones that are here are nice! Here are my fish from this morning, one nice ocean fish and one resident.
-
Still waiting down in 11, have been managing a few each day but it’s not as hot as normal yet.
-
Quick morning today. Good tide sequence and seems to be more fish around.
-
Got ours in 11 the last couple days, two were huge hook noses.

Awesome. Definitely seemed like more fish around today versus Monday. Figured you might be getting them down in 11 now too.
-
I've never fished 11. Where and what would I do if I wanted to get the kids on some coho?

I fish Redondo.
-
Any recent 10 reports? With 8-2 closed, I'm flipping between the bar and 10 for this week. Probably hit both unless I get lucky.
-
We got five yesterday out of area 10. Started around 7:15 and finished up around noon. Fish are a nice size this year for sure. Did not enjoy the two hour slog back to the boat ramp when the wind picked up in the afternoon.
Seems like fishing should be better. Hoping for a lights out weekend weather permitting.

Thanks, haven't decided which way to go but I am getting a bit tired of turning back native fish.
-
Weather is not great, but still fish to be had! And some are big!
-
It's going to be the only game around here shortly, probably one more day in 9, then 10 will be it. Sad to see we're getting real close to putting the boat up for the year.
-
im always tempted to do that...but then winter crab sneaks up. i spent most of the summer concentrating on fish and prawns, so my freezer is lacking in crab cakes and bisque.
eastern muzzy elk...idaho rifle elk...a little bit of house projects, and winter crab season will be here! :IBCOOL:
-
Too bad blackmouth seem to be long term fodder in the salmon wars, I really figured them out fairly well accidentally while coho fishing this year.
-
Anyone still fishing 10?
-
About 500 boats today. Pretty lousy fishing, yesterday was good though.
