How about standing top of the waders deep in saltwater on state land with a shotgun? Several places with great scenery on the west side to chose from. They already wrote the background story for you so you can skip that part.

This is for the Big game pamplet, see 2021 photo winner! :IBCOOL: :hello:

You mean the young lady who harvested the deer? Isn’t that awesome! That’s what us conservationists want for many decades to come! The way things are going makes me wonder if that’s possible. I have daughters who I would love to see enjoying the hunting lifestyle someday. The current regime isn’t going to provide that

Let get real guys! This iS a real contest with WDFW :hello:

Oh I’ll send them a picture alright. I plan on sending them a Christmas pic and nice letter after they fired me. I had a flashback when I read “requirement for submission”. Last time they requested submission they wanted me to bend over and take the jab. O’well at least a few obedient faithful followers are still around.
-
Send them your photos and then they have exclusive rights to it and can use it whenever they want for whatever they want. It’s in the official rules. Don’t get burned.

Truth, last time I sent them a picture they cropped me and my wife out of it and used the fish in it as a banner on their site. They did send me a email that said thanks.

C'mon folks....Lady Grouse Hunter said it's not in the rules. No goofing now.....the wdfw needs your money AND your pics so give em both and just like was said you may even get a thanks.

Oops time to be serious....the government is asking us to do something :yike:
-
If you don't send them a pic they will have to pay a photographer to take one and then our license fees will go up. Let's do this for the betterment of hunters everywhere.
Too bad they aren't asking for volunteers to work on their website, that would be progress we could get behind.

When WDFW commission has taken away spring bear season and they are looking at changing the WDFW into a conservancy/preserve its hard to get motivated to send them anything positive.
-
ladygrousehunter the female version of "cryder" ?
-
Do you really think Crider would approve of this?
-
Damn auto check. Cryder would not be OK with this.
-
Nope ,
Not shareing with WDFW.
I might of submitted a photo last year or something .
So nope ,I'm over it.

The theme seems appropriate “Exploring”. I’m surprised it wasn’t “Observing” , “Viewing” or “Watching”.
-
I figured the theme for this year would be how to drive your friends and family away from hunting. Seems like that’s the direction they’re going instead of the typical get the women and children out and show us the pictures that we used to hear.

This coincides with the e-mail reminder you can buy your licenses for next year already. :chuckle:
-
Not mine but I think this is also a good candidate. Bears are cute, cuddly, and make great backyard visitors.

I think you are missing the point. Most of us are so fed up with them we aren’t sending them a photo! Well maybe this one…

On the flip side, wouldn't flooding them with success photos remind them who they work for?

Nope. It wouldn’t do a darn thing.

Actually it would probably cause emergency closures and price increases for next year.

So it’s my fault license fees are so high.

Self portrait of Lorna? Or a group shot of the fab 4?

The fact is that you have tens of thousands of pictures, more than can be used in several lifetimes. Most of us just have a few lousy iPhone shots at camp. We're just asking you to contribute your fair share, that's all. Common sense, reasonable expectation I believe.
Where's the sarcasm emoji?

Here’s mine! One of two Idaho bears this year. Much better off spending your money there. If they put that on the cover, they can use it
-
Whats the story there. or were ya just taking him for a swim?
-
Heres a submission, yes that is 8 fawn legs from 1 of 2 fresh cougar kills, the other doe had a single fawn. kills were 10' apart......5 killed and mostly only the unborn fawns eaten.
-
ALL THESE PICS will not apply. Just sent a desent, clean pic of any BIG GAME harvest from 2021.. that's all! there is a prize as well.. good luck! :hello:
-
Great idea, send in all predator pictures, Some of the bear/fawn pictures some of you have are excellent(unfortunately). Im sending in some photos like NOCK NOCK just posted, 12 different cached cougar kills we found in the Methow. They need to know what its really like out there! Its not the Game Department anymore, I doubt half the people in the "WDFW" get out from in front of their computers. I remember back in the day it was a treat to see a bear or cougar in this state it was so rare, not any longer, they are decimating our ungulate herds and are everywhere, number one issue effecting our herds, NO.1, period!! They will be getting many of our bear/cougar pictures and many pictures of what was left of their kills!
-
NO, & NO Just sent them a pic of your 2021 harvest, Deer, Elk, Moose, Goat or Sheep, Thats all No blood issues, clean it up for pics...
-
Whats the story there. or were ya just taking him for a swim?
Ya I was hunting across a river and had to get a line and have my buddy’s drag it back across lol... worked good cooling it down too. Meat is delicious.

Funny thread!

I’m going to go out on a limb and say no
-
The thread headline should be changed to "pics you wish you could submit for WDFW 2022 cover pic contest..." Pretty crazy all the pics of bears and their fawn chew toys.
-
So is this an actual contest for best picture? or do we send in pictures and then there is a DRAW and if you win you pay X amount of $ and get a prize ?
-
To bloody I suppose....
-
:chuckle:

Absolutely. The entry fee is you get to give them full and exclusive rights in perpetuity to use your photo for free and they give you a prize of a congratulatory e-mail.
They could throw a free DEBC or small game license your way I suppose but that would just cheapen the experience.
-
To bloody I suppose....
What our 2 new commissioners like :bash:
-
You probably can't really tell what this is a picture of but I took it this last weekend. This is a WDFW Wildlife area. Not really sure what wildlife they are helping here, maybe earthworms? :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:
Keep working hard so we can have more areas like this WDFW!!
It will probably come in sideways, feel free to fix it.
-
Be thankful it isn't on the bottom of Puget Sound.
-
Funny thread. It Would be a good idea to send pictures of bears killing fawns etc would actually send a pretty clear message especially if hundreds of hunters sent in pictures

Stating this is why we have a spring bear season. Maybe it could get the commission thinking :dunno: possibly reinstate the spring season for 2023. I feel for those who have been putting in for a spring tag and now they have to just sit on the points and pray it one day (2023) is reinstated.
-
RIP 2022 calves and fawns
-
just read the Book! 2021, I do not know them... :yike:

Idk what else could get them thinking like their own biologists... if they don’t listen to that I doubt a few pictures would

Here is my contribution
-
I did submit a photo of my son's deer from 2020.
I guess it wasn't good enough.
Last year or whenever.
So I'm over it ,they won't get any more pics from me.
Considering all my hunts are DIY public land, pack it in ,pack it out on your own boot leather.
Wasn't the right image for hunters on the cover.
-

.
Once upon a time, here in Washington, you could buy an otc spring bear tag.
.
Lots of successful hunters would put their eviscerated bears in the river to cool, and wash all the damn fleas/ticks off in the river.
.
Maybe not lots, but the few I knew...
