That's a hell of a dead head! I would have taken it tho ;)
-
Yeah rough when you gotta leave em like that. :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
That skull is full on bad ass, nice sheds too, way to go.
-
Sweet finds ! That dead head looks like a beast!
-
Sweet dead head
-
Kickers, stickers and trash
-
NICE!!!
-
guess i am ignorant, but why did you have to leave the dead head there?
-
In Washington you can only take "naturally shed antlers". If they are attatched to a skull it has to be tagged.
Nice finds
-
dude thats jacked up, well hell if you didnt kill your deer put that tag on it, iam sorry but i couldnt leave that baby in the woods
-
you want to get caught with a tagged head this time of year? :dunno:
-
See this is where common sense comes into play, any self respectin damn warden would know that you didnt poach it .... oh well i am sure someone is gonna put me in my place, but holy *censored*, it would be to hard to leave that baby in the woods, it would looks sweet up on the mantle
-
You will get no argument from me, it seems like a dumb law to me but.... :dunno:
-
My vote....take it. Common sense overrides all in my world.
-
take it X 2
just dont kill hamsters.......... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
:yeah: now that is funny
-
I hate that law, but I do see its purpose to try and control poaching. Alot of scum would shoot the bucks, gps the location and come back the next year for the head and call it a "deadhead"

That's what I refer to as "The Utah Way". 8)

Knowing Stickslinger he left it lie as is........but I'll bet anything he whipped out his tape and threw it on the bone. :chuckle:
What did it score Slinger?
-
It would probably have ended up in my truck. Good looking sheds!

Very nice finds! I am stuck home with sick kids! Sure looks like a nice day outside!
-

you wouldn't put todays date on it
-
You guys crack me up. Of course I carry my tape. Just in case. :chuckle:
Rough score in the field.
R L
20 20
14 13.5
10 9
11.5 11
6.5 4
Mass-20 Mass- 18.5
Extras-8 Extras-5
Total-90 Total- 81
Inside- 19
Gross- 190-ish
That is with the G2's chewed off a ways down. They were likely 17 and 18 rather that what I measured 13.5 and 14. Big boy was getting right up there in the upper 190's with all those extra brows and mass. Pretty decent frame too.
Now the coyotes get to eat it. :bash:

I know that is the law and it really sucks for us honest guys who wouldn't poach just for a dead head. But here's my question to WDFW......What self respecting scum who WOULD poach it, mark the GPS coordinates, and come back for it next year is going to follow the law about not picking up dead heads?
-
found a few today. Had to leave the deadhead. Sweet tripple brows.
looks like you got finally got into a good one. To bad you had to leave it behind. :bash:
-
I know how you feel. I was shed hunting today on some public land, and spotted a large 4 point shed across the fence on private land. I just stared at it with binos for about 5 minutes. I finally had to just walk away.
-
That skull is full on bad ass, nice sheds too, way to go.
:yeah:
-
Yeah I'm sure it got left..... On a shelf in his garage! :chuckle:
MS
-
The real question is if you had found that a couple years ago when it was fresh would you be able to leave it lay. I wouldn't. ;)
-
i like it when the horns are so big. that it sheds its head with the horns :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
Man if you did leave that deadhead, give me the coordinates, I'll be a criminal and take it home!
-
I am not 2 sure about the score, could you go in the garage and measure it again!
-

This has been my argument about this law. A guy will go through all that and then break the law again and pickup a dead head. Doesn't make any sense. I think that it has more to do with the argument of these dead heads will be eaten by small animals.

Hey,
Weathergirl has a WA State salvage permit, go pick it up and donate it to Decatur Island School where she teaches.
-
so the truth comes out, the wdfw wants us to buy a salvage permit incase we come across a dead head, well i will be honest with all of you if i found that i would take it home with me, sorry if that offends any of you, thats just my :twocents:
-
You can only get a salvage permit for educational purposes, she's a teacher. BTW, I'd keep it too....
