Title: Oregon White River Unit (Rifle)
Post by: River on July 13, 2008, 05:35:09 AM
Hi Everyone,
I have started scouting this unit for the fall, and have concentrated on coming into the general Badger Creek area from the West (off 35) and East from Tygh Valley. I don't know what to expect as far as hunter pressure in these areas come fall. Right now there isn't a whole lot of people/hikers, as there is still snow/cold in places off the West. The East side seems to be the better way to go, even though there might be more traffic, as it breaks to oaky areas and have seen some interesting bucks there now -- probably higher toward Hood as the heat comes in. Anyway, if anyone has hunted it in the Fall and could let me know how to avoid hunter traffic but stay in the hunt, please advise. Ain't lookin for your favorite spots, just advice. Thanks. River/Dan.
