So Iíve been using my buddies foxpro firestorm, is it normal for these to eat up batteries?   I did 4 30 minute sets the other day for bear and the brand new batteries died after the fourth set???  Is there a better e caller To buy?

Wow! I forget which one I have? Paid $169.00 at Cabelas years ago. I get 5 times that out of a set of batteries easily.

Quick limits today. Tremendous numbers of birds today. Surprised to see nobody out.

Nice looking mut.. I love a dog who will hold still for a picture!  Must have some brains. :chuckle:

Someone on here once called them shoot and release ducks and got spanked pretty bad for such a statement..

I hear they make great table fare. :hello:

on a separate note, people trap mice and rats and don't eat them.

Rats and mice don't have a season and are not considered Game. I shoot Starlings for the same reason I trap mice, I don't eat them either. I would never shoot a game bird and leave it lay. If I wasn't going to eat it, I would find someone that would. That is what I do with deer livers....

Lots of birds around yesterday and very few shots heard where I was.  Unfortunately I seemed to be in the waterfowl equivalent of a "rain shadow", they were literally flying on all four sides of me but nothing within 500 yards of my spot.

Many more cacklers than I have ever seen.
