COYOTE DOWN

Shot a coyote on Saturday, 1/3 of his jaw is missing and good chunck from the top including K9 and a few teeth. Looks like this years pop, as far as i know the area, no other predators are in the area besides coyotes. What you guys think happened to this coyote? Besides me killing him  :chuckle:

Only other thought would be kicked/stomped by a deer or livestock.

Good job! They are pretty resourceful. There was a 3 legged coyote in a area I bow hunt for a couple years. Close to town so he was probably finding some easy pickings around garbage cans and apple trees etc.

It actually looks almost normalish like he was born that way or possibly injured very early in life  :dunno:  if he is this years pup and that was a bullet injury I feel like it would look a lot worse. Ive seen a few critters with "this years" wounds and they don't look very pretty  :twocents:

That's what I was thinking, looks pretty well healed up if it was an injury.  Being on the mouth, a nasty infection would be nearly 100% guaranteed.
