Well Haley is coming along nicely. She’s 10 months old last weekend. This past week we were out hunting 4 of the 5 days. My friend visiting from Washington & I walked 18 miles, Haley did a lot more than that. We only hunted public land & land open to public hunting & she found wild pheasants every day. Anytime a puppy finds wild birds on public land, I’ll take that as a successful day. My visiting friend was impressed with her. He was also impressed with the Scheel’s store.

She is a beautiful dog.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.

Well Haley’s first year is a wrap & id call it a success. We hit the field 41 times including the trios out to release chukars from the launchers & stake out pheasants for her.  She found birds every time out. She retrieved ducks both from shore and the boat. One morning she even brought back the decoys we were tossing out of the boat! Last week she flushed up 8 hens from 30” of snow during an ice storm. Once my buddy’s dog flushed a rooster. It learned it was a mistake to fly by Haley because she jumped up, snatched it out of the air & brought it to me. She was 10 months old for that one.  She’ll sit steady & watch me ride away on the back if a pickup for over 1/4 mile & not move until she hears the whistle.

Duck season was poor this year, so we didn’t get to work much in that this year, but next year we’ll get better at it. All in all, I’m pleased with her & think she’ll be a good hunting companion!
