Got Fur Back from Moyle and Mink
« on: March 20, 2018, 10:15:09 PM »
I got my last year's furs back from Moyle and Mink today and I am very happy with the job they did.  I sent them in less than 60 days ago so that is very quick.  The quality of the garment tanning I asked for is excellent; my four King County bobcats even look good.  I broke the tail off my son's coyote and they nicely sewed it back on for me. My goal with the cats is to ask Amanda Platoni at Hart's Lake Trading post to make a bobcat jacket for my wife (like the one I took a picture of in Banff Canada). I learned a few things from seeing my own furs come back.  I now understand what singe on otters is and looks like because half of them have singe. I really can see the difference and now I can try to remember what I might have done to cause the singe or if the singe was caused by a late season catch date.

They did an elk hide for me a few years ago and it came back nice but had somewhat of a chemical odor to it, not leather. Other than that I was happy with it.

Did you pay extra for a quick turn around?

The furs look great. Do you remember how much the price was on the  fur coat? How much do think it will cost to have Hart lake make the coat for you?

I did not pay extra for the quick turn around. The quick turnaround you pay extra for is under 40 days.
