Propane fire pit
« on: August 30, 2024, 08:43:54 PM »
I've got a muzzleloader elk hunt coming up in early Oct and I'll be hunting the L.T. Murray part of the Manastash and just saw that campfires aren't allowed before Oct 15. Going to be there for a week (or hopefully less) and am going to want a fire for a couple hours each night and was thinking about a propane fire pit, assuming that's ok. After looking at them online on both Cabela's and Sportsman's Warehouse sites, it seems like there are a lot of mixed reviews, anyone got a recommendation for 1? May never get used after this hunt so not looking for anything fancy, just a little camp ambiance, the cheaper the better. Also, how much propane do they typically burn?

That's a great idea that I wouldn't have thought of, and I would definitely use it again, thanks.

I run mine on a 5 gal tank. Might get a week or more if you don’t run it wide open.

We have one of these. Use it a lot during the summer on our deck because my wife doesn’t do well with the smoke. Taken it camping too. We’ve owned it for years and it just works all the time.

One day we walked into Costco, and they had a bunch of them stacked up near the entrance for $50-60. We bought one. We've used it a few times now. Sure better than nothing when a wood fire is not an option. Good luck on your hunt!
