I wouldn't pack up and call it a day just for the lack of a duck call.  You never know,  I've had plenty of ducks land in my spread when I wasn't calling......... or paying attention.  :chuckle:

exactly!

And what about guys like.... maybe my dad..... that used to kill THOUSANDS of ducks way back in the day before "Modern" calling?
Hmmm.... they still got birds with no call.

How do you not know that you FAIL with a duck call?  What sounds like sound of music to you may be a tsunami warning to the birds.   :chuckle:  You might have been just okay without it.   :chuckle:  All joking aside, throw a spare in your jacket or game bag.  I have ran out without them and have turned around just to go get my calls.  I think I have placed 3 or 4 calls in every rig and extras in each jacket and waders.
Cut em!

I did the same thing a week and a half ago with goose hunting. It didn't turn out too badly.
