MANASTASH to the Bumping....
« on: September 15, 2008, 07:01:50 PM »
Hello all,  :dunno:
I am looking to help another Hunt-Wa member out with some calling later whis week and I will be camping/hunting in the MANASTASH near Quartz Mountain. Does anyone know the route from there to the 410 and the Bumping unit by forest service road? I will be driving a AWD Subaru wagon on the forest roads so the route has to be accessible for this vehicle. thanks for your time and effort.
Todd in Poulsbo.

Take the Barber Springs road off of Manastash Road when you get to the top turn right towards Bald Mountain take 1701 to the 410 highway turn right. Easy as following your nose from there.

If it were me, I would just take Manastash Rd back into Ellensburg, and take either I-82 or the Canyon Road down to Yakima, then up Hwy 12 through Naches and on to whatever part of the Bumping Unit you're headed to, I guess either up towards White Pass or farther on up towards Chinook Pass and to Bumping Lake area. It's quite a long drive for only being around 20 miles as a crow flies! It will be at least 1 1/2 hours.

Hello,
I am heading for the Bumping lake area.

Thanks for your time, right now I am at work as a fireman >:( and wish I was with my brother in the Manastash hunting.
Oh well, will be tomorrow.

Thanks for all the input.
