late archery westside
« on: September 27, 2008, 10:35:06 PM »
I'm looking for a good late archery hunt on the westside that has alot of elk numbers. I have heard that the Mt St Helens has the best numbers of elk but I also keep hearing about the Packwood Randle area. Any suggestions?

I have seen a few in the st. Helen's area. You wouldn't happen to be looking for someone to go with would ya. I don't know many people that hunt in my area.

I don't think Packwood is open late season.  Lots of opportunity on the west side of the freeway during late season.  Most of the units that are open late have good opportunity.

The elk numbers are good in St Helens, but the hunter numbers are high as well, not easy hunting at all, I live here and becuase of the hunter numbers thinking about hunting else where.  Just have to be in the right spot at the right time.
