50 mile hike Low Divide trail under 20 hrs
«

Started my hike at north fork trailhead (lake Quinault) at midnight and finished at whiskey bend (Elwha) trailhead. Took 19 hrs 21 min. The trail was in very poor shape near the middle section. I lost the trail in the snow at the pass a few times. I covered 4 extra miles durring the hike due to snow and over 150 trees the over trail in places. To make it to 50 miles I hiked a few miles on the road after the trailhead. Pics sideways sorry.

50 mile mark. Was a very physically demanding hike. Around a 25-30 lb pack of supplies. Did it alone but was safe about it. Spent most of my life outdoors and felt comfortable doing it alone. I had lots of safety and medical gear. Great trip.

thats awesome, i wish i was still in that kind of shape, most i ever did was 27.5, i did however have a heavy ruck around 60 to 70 lbs, i can honestly say that i dont know if i could have made it 50 miles like you did, ny dogs were hurtn pretty good, we had to wear jungle boots which i always liked but would have nice to have some sneakers on
again congrats thats a hell of an accomplishment....how were the dogs feeling when you got back to the pick-up?

Thanks. My feet and legs were sore. My ankles were the worst. After the hike I was happy I accomplished it.

Holy poop! I dont know if anyone keeps records of times for that hike but I would think you may have set the record! I have lived here my whole life and have never done the hike but everyone I know says its a beautiful one and it usually takes 3-4 days depending on your pace.
The other day I went for a drive up southshore road and met a few guys who had just did that hike from Elwah and it took them 3 days.
Did you see any animals? Bear, dear, elk? Usually lots of bears and big high country blacktail bucks seen on that hike

I was hiking most of the time and jogged some of the downhill parts. I saw a few deer and heard a few elk crashing off in the bushes durring the night a few miles in from the north fork trailhead. I was not really looking for animals just hiking as fast as I could.
