3 of 4 with the bow
« on: September 14, 2013, 01:07:26 PM »
Got hot early and the deer weren't moving. Decided to hunt on the way back to the truck as i heard a bunch of grouse going in. Should have had a limit, but shot low and didn't want to throw another arrow at it.

Good shootin'!

I started asking myself which I want more- grouse or fancy carbon arrow :dunno: Saving arrow usually wins out.

Nice work, chased them around the last day of early Archery Elk but didn't get any shots.  Curious what you use?  I've always put one arrow in my quiver with a Judo on it.  Have you found another point that works good too?

good job ...I learned along time ago to use the same arrow ...when you run into a group of grouse ...usually young ones , you can shoot the whole flock ...I emptied my quiver once and killed my limit while my buddy kept shooting them and walked up to get his arrow a couple different times and used it to get his limit ...then turns to me a says ...what h---l ....don't you know these spruce grouse are so stupid you can get your arrow and keep shooting ... :dunno: :bash: broadheads and arrows were cheap back then ... :dunno: :chuckle:

Nice job! I was hunting in another state a few years ago and killed 3 in one cubby with a stick. I didn't want to shoot them with my pistol or rifle so I grabbed a stick and started throwing it at them, they flew into a tree and I took them out one at a time. One bird I didn't even hit with the stick, I hit the branch he was on and he fell to the ground in shock I think. Good eats!
“In common with”..... not so much!!
