Lifted wing wigeon foam decoy finished!
« on: May 23, 2013, 11:39:53 PM »
So I decided I'd get ambitious and attempted to make a lifted wing on one of the wigeons I'm making. Not quite a preener, but I was kinda going for "in motion to preening" if that makes sense. Or maybe just finished preening lol. Obviously not done, but I figured I'd share my progress  :)

Thank you! I thought about making it show a little leg, but I'm not quite sure how to make a foot sturdy enough. I would like to make a scratcher though! As if I already couldn't wait for duck season, now I REALLY can't wait!! I can't express how much I can't wait to see the first ducks cupped up coming in to these  ;D

Finally! After studying hundreds and hundreds of pictures of wigeon, both alive and taxidermy mounts, I finally tried to get this guy painted. What a chore! Without having a bird in hand figuring out the anatomy (and therefore markings) with the wing in this position is a little difficult. Hopefully it's realistic enough to fool ducks!
