Not a youth model, but I have the axis in a 270 and it has done well for me. I've taken 2 deer with it at 100 yards. Hit 200 yards great at the range. I like that it is light weight and easy to carry all day, even for the kids.
The stock is nothing special, but I do like the camo version. I don't worry about the kids scratching it up and seems like it will last a long time.
Issues for me were the plastic mag. Sucks big time. I just load manually like a single shot and don't mind. I got my on sale for 279 with cheap scope. Swapped out scope right away for a leopold and put the cheap one on my 22.
I think the stock trigger is ok. Could be better, but works fine for hunting purposes.
