Rip huntin buddy
« on: February 19, 2014, 09:55:52 PM »
Not real sure this is the right spot for this but it sports meaning that needs to be seen by all.I lost a hunting buddy yesterday. To say we were close freinds would be stretching it,I felt like we were buddies I hope he felt the same.I met him through a mutual freind,we all hunted together for birds with dogs.We hunted in eastern washington, made multiple trips to South Dakota and a trip to Iowa.Eddie was game for whatever an inshape feller that was into "Getting um".A farmer by trade he could work magic in any location with his knock on doors/kick gravel technique that got us a ton of hunting spots where the signs yeilded "Don't ASK".Farmers are Farmers and they take care of their own.Eddie lost his life yesterday in a barn he grew up in and scraped with a tractor for over 40 years,as I understand it the rollbar on the tractor was in the deployed position when it should have been down,Eddie missed that fact,a beam sheared off and hit him in the head.I feel so bad for his son,the same son I had as a tag along on a hunt 16 years ago as an 8 year old I let shoot at a pointed bird as a hookset to have the same thirst for hunting that we all have. His son was the first person on scene at the farm.Todays lesson teaches the live for today because tommorrow may be a dream.Next years first rooster is allready designated as Eddies on my list.I'm really gonna miss him.Rip my freind I'll see you on the otherside at some point.
