2014 hunt wa crawdad mania.. round 2..
« on: May 04, 2014, 11:56:38 AM »

The Format for MUDBUG MANIA ROUND 2 well go as follows...

1st Place, overall length, Hogcraw Trophy and custom pot donated by Mr. Brad Harsman
2nd Place, overall length, Hogcraw Trophy
3nd Place, overall length, Hogcraw Tropy and a dose of shame for your lack of skill and poor mudbuggn' skllls.

Overall high pot count, keepers and throwbacks, Hogcraw Top Pot Trophy and bragging rights about your sheer numbers of bugs.

All in good fun boys, but bragging rights are worth far more then any cash prize could ever offer... Have fun with it!......

I'm in for kicks and giggles. Never heard back from last years winner regarding  the prize and if he enjoyed it. Also...he doesn't seem to be active other than that. Scam? Fake pic from the web? Got me...I have my suspicions but that is just me. Honor system should be good enough. I like the measurement and think one pot pull could be a good runner up. Looking forward to followng along this year.

.. southpole Huntcouple h20 think of a some cool* prize for round 2 this years tourney prize.. I think big daddy from tip of pinched to tale with ruler in photo and maybe the most in one pot? June 1st-sept 1st..?  We need to get to mud bugging folks..

The honor system is all good but.........How are you going to verify the "most in one pot pull" or the most caught period? and will this be any species or native Signal craws only? There is no limit on the invasive varieties but there is on The native signal craw.

For the sake of no fuss no muss I would suggest the largest craw, any species and forget the largest catch/amount idea :twocents: I will offer a new collapsible craw trap for a prize

Will there be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize ect. for size?

holy cow BH, those are some dandy's.. :yike:  dont remember you from last year, looks like you might be a contender for Round #2 this year...  So biggest daddy, tip of pincher to tail, and most daddy's in one pot.. picture of them spread out our in a bucket or cooler or what ever, honor system.. no fun if you lie to win a crawdad tourny and thats just F'd up..  That sounds like a great prize to donate that crawdad pot, I will have a good prize as well.. so 1, 2 & 3rd for size and just one prize for most in one pot... June 1st thru  Sept 1st..  Honor system...  This was a good time on here last year checking in on peoples pulls, and people's strategies..

we have a crawdad pot, i will have something awesome to donate as a prize.. So 2 more prizes and we should be good to go..

The season already opened on May 5th any reason why you don't want to start now rather than waiting until June 1st? Why waist a month of the season :dunno:

Don't want to be Mr. Negative but it should be biggest craw only entered by photo. There are to many variables in the other categories like water in the bucket for weight e.g. 1 cup of water is 8 oz. making a big difference, also multiple pot catch being entered as one pot catch ect.

I believe in honor and the honor system is an honorable thought but......The sad truth is some people will do anything to be a winner and not think twice about it.

I say keep it simple since there is no official entry or weigh in station and just go with 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize ect. for the largest craws either species entered on the HW site by clear photo :twocents:

What the heck, I'll donate one of my standard pots.  Been making and selling them for the last couple years.  We have a lot fun crawdad'n its a social event and most times my daughter helps set and pull my pots.  She loves feasting on them too and so do my friends.
