second brood quail
« on: June 27, 2014, 09:37:12 PM »
Just saw a half a dozen recently born quail scurry across my driveway. They couldn't have been bigger than quarters. That's got to be the second brood of the season for them right?

Wives tales, they have one brood per year,if the first brood doesn't survive they renest,if that brood fails they renest again, which is why you have birds of various sizes throughout the nesting season, they do not raise a brood, and then raise another.
