Very cool adventure. Great writeup and photos!

what Kuiu pack were you packing?
We had the ultra 3000. It worked great but we should have brought our 6000 bags instead - had to strap extra jackets and camera on the outside. We had all our gear except tent and stove which guide had.  I wondered if that 2 lb pack would handle 70-100 lb loads but it did no problem - I planned on using extra straps to secure the meat but ended up just using what it came with - takes less than a minute to load and secure the meat which is much quicker than my old rope on pack frame method.

I perfer the gurney method when packing a moose out alot less wear and tear on the body. But thats just me. Still an awesome once in a lifetime type of trip!! Congrats thanks for sharing

Great post!

The pics with the wrack in the water should be framed.

I've sent PM's to everyone who asked.  We had a great hunt, some of the other guys that went weren't as lucky as us.  Didn't want to go into all the pluses and minus on this post.  Like any hunt sometimes you have a good one sometimes you don't.
