I've lived in try cities my entire life and have never hiked badger. I'd much rather hike where I can see more wildlife than people. Good offer though.

Maverick, you might want to reconsider.  The county has put a lot of effort into building up the trail system on Badger in the last few years.  Although Little Badger has recently become a neighborhood, Big Badger is still quite tall and empty (of houses).  The views are great.  Give it a try once, I am sure you will be surprised.

I met up with Silk this past weekend and we hiked Badger from the Dallas Rd trailhead, had a good hike, good company, plan to do it again this weekend. Timberstalker, you should probably stay home, this hike is for real men with real backpacks. :chuckle:

I'll be out this weekend, headed west to meet my niece, but I'll be back next weekend.

Sounds like Adam is back in fighting shape so you should be good to go.

This next Saturday we will be meeting at one of the TC trailheads, either Candy, Dallas or HH.

Plan on upping the weight this week to 100 lbs but bring what you're comfortable with.

Timberstalker, you're a funny guy, I'd like to see that. I went yesterday, got there about 7:15, there were about 8 cars at the trailhead, by the time I got back the parking lot was pretty much full.  Went this morning at 7:00, and there were only 4 cars in the parking lot, weather was even nicer, but today was packless, I ran it with my dog.  I am planning to start running M, W, F at about 5:00 PM.

Ok. 8 AM Saturday morning, Horse Heaven Trail Head. 100 lb packs is what some of us are running, but don't feel as though you need to jump right into that. Bring what you feel comfortable with.

That dude is on Geritrol.  He can barely find the mailbox in his neighborhood.  :chuckle:

I've ran the road to the top of Jump off Joe a few times, but never hiked it.  Judging by all of the wheat fields surrounding that mountain, I wouldn't know another way to get to the top because of all of the "assumed to be private" land.

And Timberstalker, the Horse Heaven trailhead is on your left, about 400 yards past the canal on your way up McBee, there's a trailhead sign and everything, even a half-blind, doe shooting, wannabee like yourself should be able to find it.
