If a group called the "Wild Fish Conservatory" can sue to have steelhead smolt plants stopped, then why can't we sue the Entiat Ranger District over land use/exclusions?...let the District Ranger have to explain herself in the courts. I hate having to resort to that but this is the Feds being bullies...also, I think we should demand all studies done that were used in the Rangers decision to close it through the Publuc Disclosure process to show how her claims of public safety are false baseless.

I went in there Wednesday and Silver Falls isnt the campground I remember. The workers use a minature mini excavator it looks like a childs toy to move rotten wood and little rocks to mark parking spots. I didnt even ask why they locked some of the toilets cause that would have wasted their time moving rotten wood. But I did make them wait 1 hour setting in their truck waiting for me :)

Yeah, bobcat just post a sign saying no rescues if you go beyond such and such point.  If I remember correctly a wilderness trail previously closed because of fire a year before had a sign saying you could face a year in jail or $10K in fines--maybe it was more.  BigTex could probably clarify that.
All federal land management agency violations with the exception of those on BLM lands are federal Class B Misdemeanors which carry up to a $5,000 fine and/or 6 months in jail. But I am willing to bet there is a set fine for such violation. The feds aren't following WA's path in requiring everyone who commits an offense to have a mandatory day in court.

 :yeah: Done

As far as keeping the 5900 road closed....Well the Chelan Ranger District has already grated and graveled their side of the pass that was damaged in the 25 mile fire, Why has Entiat not done theirs yet??? The road is snow free and dry the whole way.  :bash:

We were in the valley a couple of weeks ago to check on my wife's family. They were told that it would be five years before any Forest Service review of the situation.

Road 5900 (Shady Pass) road is in the best shape in the past 30 years.
They spent the last half of the summer working on that road.  Ranger Flanagan does not want anyone in her forest; that is obvious.

More crazy news:  She closed all of the roads and trail that provide a view of the burn.  Garland Peak #1408, Shetipo #1429, Tommy Creek Road #5605 are all closed.  Reason: "Due to safety concerns resulting from the Duncan fire."
These are on the ridge across the valley; not remotely involved with the fire.  If you see how light the burn is you will be really pissed.
Check the website Entiat Ranger District, recreation, trails.
Ranger Flanagan can be reached at (509) 784-4700 or jflanagan@fs.fed.us
Forest Supervisor's office at (509) 664-9200 or deputy supervisor jkuiken@fs.fed.us

Remember DELAY is often the best tactic used by the Enviro wack-o crowd to strip us of our acess.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

The more I hear about this the more mad I get. This is ridiculous. Flanagan should lose her job for gross incompetence and for denying the public access to THEIR land.

The real issue is the Closure of the Wilderness by blockading (gateing) the Entiat River Road to Cottonwood.   Today, the Entiat Ranger District did update the website and all trails and road are open except those in the official closure area.
That include the burn plus 5 mile up valley from the burn, to the Wilderness boundary.  The major goal is to get the Entiat River Road to Cottonwood open but everything should be re-opened.
Yes, I am upset too and so are the residence in the Entiat Valley, cabin owners, fishers, hunters and hikers.
