Orange Aglow Hunting Vests
« on: June 25, 2015, 07:54:20 AM »
My goal in creating the Orange Aglow Signature Mesh Vest was to build a lightweight vest that would work in concert with Sitka, Kuiu, First Lite, etc. clothing.  Most vests on the market today seem counterproductive to the athletic fit, technical features, and minimalist nature of the best hunting clothing.  The Orange Aglow vest is made of polyester mesh, so it's light, stretchy, and it dries quickly.  There's a little extra fabric in the back to stretch over your later-season, bulkier clothing, but it's kept taut with a piece of elastic near the bottom.  The hook-and-loop closure has a tab on the end so it can be opened with gloves.  In size Medium, the vest comes in at just 2.2 ounces.

The vest comes in sizes Medium - 3XL.  I'm hoping to have Small in stock by September.  All sizes will meet the legal requirements of all states (that don't require hats) with plenty to spare.  In the case that you are wearing a backpack and covering the rear of your vest, I've also created a Safety Panel.  The panel has hook-and-loop closures on all four corners to attach to your backpack and it provides an extra 115" of coverage.  It weighs .8 ounces.

Great, thanks!  And send me success pictures after the season!  One of my field testers last December got his elk within the first hour of wearing his vest so he and I are pretty sure this is the best investment you can make towards your hunting success.  :)

I got my elk muzzle loading, so no vest :dunno:

I have a vest from Ca***** that is heavy cotton, and guilty of all the things in your ad.

These look great for high country hunts...weight wise.

For years I hung an old vest on the back of my hunting pack....now I won't have to

And the vest weights almost nothing. I like giving even a little

Should we order true to our shirt size?

Should we order true to our shirt size?

If these are "athletic" fit, do we older chunky guys get the next larger size?

Wondering if a 42-44 is a large or extra large

Yes, you should.  I wear a Large in most things, except XL in Sitka's Jetstream jacket.  But a Large vest fits me perfectly.

Do you mean 42-44 waist?  If that is the case I would go with at least XL.  The athletic cut is still meant to be true to size, but just slightly tighter.  Whatever you wear in a normal tshirt size is what size vest I would order.

The panel is a great idea for the pack. At .8 ounces, how could a guy go wrong?

Just place my order, looking forward to using them.
