Another successful Pasayten trip with 11 women.
« on: August 27, 2015, 08:49:15 PM »
Another great trip gone by but not with a ton of photos to remember it by. We started out having to switch our departure trail.  The plan was to go Andrew's Creek but it had trees down so we reloaded everything with horses already tacked up and headed to the Chewuck trailhead (Thirty mile). We've always wanted to do it and it didn't disappoint! We rode in July25th with a nice warm but not hot day.  The weather turned cold and we put up a shelter. Had rain/sleet/snow the first 3 days and came down to almost 100 degree weather!!! We rode to Lower Cathedral Lake, Upper Cathedral Lake, Cathedral Mt., Tungston Mine, Cornwall Lake, Remmel Lake and did some twice. Only lost one shoe but with the help of our outfitter and a shoe kit we brought in and a long ride day the shoe was put back on. I rode my four year old and he is better for it, and I rode his half brother/uncle one day also. We took thousands of pictures but I can only pick a few so here I go, (everyone who enjoys the outdoors should do this once either on your own or via deluxe camp through an outfitter) enjoy.......

My favorite view of Upper Cathedral Lake basin and the mountain.

My River getting his feet wet.  Don't know how they got this photo there was just 10 horses in the puddle earlier!

Someone caught a photo of me and my colt catching up to the rest of the group.

We wanted to get to the rock "just below the surface" and it ended up being hip deep! This was Cornwall Lake and so much fun to swim in!!

I'm riding my colt's half brother/uncle on this day up to 8200 ft on Cathedral, here with Remmel Mt. in the background.

Cathedral Pass in all it's glory from above.

Everyone except the photographer.

Once in a blue moon! July 31st the second full moon of the month was stunning because of the smoke from the fires in the distance.

Couldn't resist Remmel Mt. ust right of the moon rise on the same night after the sun set.

A little back, first full day in we had a little snow shower!!!!

The next day the girls were hoping for some sunshine!

Wait!! That is not the water hole!! My colt found our water supply a little easier the first day. Lol

We built a shelter for the cold days all with a bunch of women!

A group effort getting a log into camp for our shelter!

All but one, we made it to Tungston Mine!!!

It was pretty cool to see this when on the internet it explained Tungston Mine to be just a lean too.

Just before our decent we saw this smoke cloud.  It only lasted less than an hour but we didn't know what we were going down to! Thankful we picked the week we did, we had our trip!

Hope you enjoyed! So many more pictures and many I haven't seen yet. I put way more on FB. We have been doing this about every 3 years and can't wait to do it again. I hope I never get to old for it!
