No he has a whole month to grow he will be in the high 140 to 150 I have a 140 and he does have the eyegaurds that buck does

150  :chuckle: No way. It takes a hell of a wt to make 150, especially in a 4x4 frame.

140 :yike: even if it had G4's it wouldn't make 140.
That buck is done growing .. People don't understand antler growth.. Look for knobs at the end of each point when you see that they will grow .. This buck is but done.
Looking at the second picture it actually looks like the antler tips are still pretty rounded. I think he will grow a little more.

Example this buck is growing still

This buck is all but done ..these pics are recent . Some bucks start and grow early and fast and some bucks start slow and finish fast

Spot on! Not all bucks are the same. Just like humans they grow at different rates some earlier some later.

I love it when guys can say exactly what a deer will score from a picture and imply everyone else is an idiot.

don't see where anyone is implying anyone else is an idiot, I see it as he is educating, people think as long as deer have velvet on they are still growing and that is just not true

:yeah: Velvet doesn't mean growth . Once the hardening process starts its all over it starts as a thin eggshell under the velvet and slowly moving inwards.. This process doesn't happen overnight and takes weeks to happen and once they are hard they can carry around the velvet for days to a week or so. What you see now with whitetails for the most part is what you will see come fall, the mountain bucks always seem to finish later than lowland and farm bucks.

I can score a deer in velvet within a couple of inches with a couple of good pics .I watch whitetails almost nightly and mornings all thru the summer for 25 years . I've watched thousands of whitetail bucks grow and hundreds I've been able to watch year after year.

I'll be checking the cameras again in mid-august.  Hopefully I have more of him and he gives me a better idea of how big he ended up

That buck is basically done growing.  Look at the points they are no longer rounded and are pointed. He may have a couple inches to add total. That buck is no where near 140. I'll give it 120. 8 inch g1 and 2. Short G3. Nothing huge on beams or mass.
Definitely a good buck and cool brow tines!
Hope you can get him. He'd make a great trophy

 :yeah:

also not symmetrical.. give him another year.....120 tops... with major deducts...

I agree, its probably a 120 type buck. I'm not sure where these major deductions are though. :dunno:

HAHAHAHA!  Give him another year!!!  I'm by no means a trophy hunter, if he walks in he's getting drug out.  I merely asked score because I think it would be cool to get him archery if I could get him into P&Y, but if not he's a hell of a trophy for me.  I don't let good bucks walk.
