Finally went back in 5 years later and got it done this time. Not the biggest deer in the woods, but still damn proud.

Awesome Job and Great Buck! Did you ever figure out what the issue was five years ago? Curious if it was the mount or scope. Congrats.

It was the scope. Sent it back and got a replacement. Transitioned to Nightforce and never looked back.

Just as I said.  You probably didn't scare him too bad - just give him some time and you'll be back on him.  I wasn't suggesting you wait five years though!

Hell of a buck!   Long tines and lots of them.  I'm thinking you might be wrong though - he may just be the biggest buck in the woods.  Congrats on your success.  Enjoyed reading the thread again.

I moved away the following year. Finally got tired of thinking about it every season and booked a flight out for 6 days and made it happen on the opener. I forgot the torture that is the high hunt, but so worth it.

I remembered the advice I had received and didn’t want the thread to end on a low note. Thanks again.
