Your enthusiasm is contagious, 3nails! I will be slipping across the state line to Idaho on Sunday afternoon. I intend to do some very light spar-rattling. Early in the week of Thanksgiving break is going to be full action rattle time for me, though!

I have a late buck deer tag (whitetail tag) with a November 1-20 season. I was at your class at Bloedel and am going to give it a try for sure. With my work schedule I have a 4 day and 3 day hunt planned... I'll be hunting the 8th-11th and the 15th-17th if need be. Should be fun!

Sure can!  Just don't be as aggressive as you would with whitetails.  I rattled up a 2 point blacktail within 15 feet of me on Monday.  He came in on a dead run in thick timber.  I've killed several blacktail bucks while rattling and calling.  Taught a guy that I use to work with how to call and rattle.  He wound up killing a blacktail buck that he had been after for 4 years.  He has killed several really nice bucks doing the same since.  The daughter and I are going to give it a try again tomorrow haven't found the right one to shoot yet.

I'll be hitting it hard in NW Montana, rattled in a couple young bucks this week already. Scrapes are just getting hit the last 5 days in the area I'm hunting.
This crazy wet beginning of the season and now warm weather is unusual.

My 10 year old son will be a shooter this year for the first time. I'm super jacked to get him a mature buck rattled in.

Should be Awesome.

I've easily rattled in as many bucks in the evening as the morning. Heck even in the middle of the day. Actually, anytime out there doin it from mid November on is the perfect time!

20 min. minimum. Up to 30 if you feel like the sound carried well. Too many times have I stood up to move and have one blow up right behind me or just barely out of sight. It's amazing how sometimes they'll slip in undetected.
