He came out with the cop and wanted to pay for the trap ! I told him not a chance I'm taking him to court
The cop was saying I'll probably lose because king county is sympathetic  :dunno: so I called Bruce and he said to get the game department involved but they are closed today

The commission shall attempt to maximize the public recreational game fishing and hunting opportunities of all citizens, including juvenile, disabled, and senior citizens.

In a nutshell, you cannot TOUCH a trap unless it is yours, you have written permission from the owner or it is on your private property illegally.

Trouble is it is only a misdemeanor. Will the Prosecutor want to bother with it?

Is there no exact amount he gets cited for from WDFW?  Like having a barbed hook or speeding? If not, then maybe this will help get something like that on the books.

It has to go to the Prosecutor and he will decide whether or not it gets prosecuted. Depends on if he has bigger fish to fry.

Been there done that with "King County"   :mor:  I had this problem before with them and the department.
The Game Department "always have a Game Agent on duty."  Get them involved !
Don't call the police, they don't know anything.
But than again when it comes to King County Prosecutor and Mill Creek Wildlife Department
I wish you well   :salute: :salute:

Last year I had a couple cats let go, it was "coon hunters"  there dogs strike they let them go and they go right to the trap. At least they left my traps. Good luck

There needs to be a fine and restitution for this kind of behavior.
