Master Hunter tags elk at 100 years old!
« on: January 04, 2017, 10:59:38 PM »
We ran into Gordon and his son in the woods in August. They both seemed to be nice guys. We briefly spoke to him about elk hunting....my dad told him that once you reach 100 years old that he thought you should be able to hunt out of a helicopter ( Jokingly). Nice work Gordon on your elk, I hope you fill your tag next year as well!

It appears he got his Master Hunter Certification at 90 years old!

That's Awesome but I am sure the anti Master Hunters on here will find some way to attack this.

That is a great story, good for him.

This is awesome!! I read it the other day and it made me smile! One can only hope to get there in life, and to be able to continue something we love is icing on the cake. Even better, it was father and son!!

Gordon is a gentleman, an accomplished outdoorsman, and an ideal example of what I consider a true master hunter.

Congratulations to Gordon and his son.

Go Gordon!  Most of us can only dream about making it to 100, let alone still being able to hunt at that age!
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

:yeah: I would love to make it to 100 if I am still able to hunt at that age.  What a trooper.

Gordon's philosophy on elk hunting would make Yogi Berra proud:
“It amounts to: you have to be there when they’re there but you don’t know where there is,” he said. “It just happens. If you go often enough, one of those times you’re going to be there when they’re there. This happened to be the time.”
