I went out today and got skunked for the first time this year.

Other days I was luckier:

Didn't get a good picture of the actual bird because we didn't realize how big it really was. Too bad it was too shot up to mount. Pretty nice bird for Washington.

My best season to date, by far. Shot my first chukar, first double on chukar, first grouse with my bow and more quail than the last three years combined. My dog did great this year, missed half the season last year due to a cut in his pad that wouldn't heal.

I got my first grouse w a bow this year. Felt good after a lot of years of them ducking my arrows.

Big CRP, new pups first wild bird and spending the day with my son on his birthday chasing chukar were some of my favorites this year.

This picture represents the last day of my season...... Need snow shoes. We had over 30 roosters around the property and out in the open too! Should have been easy only it was like walking in molasses and they were flying at 70 yards or so. This one was the only one at 50 and he had one bb in his neck.

Wishing I had put in more time in the chukar hills, and could hunt half as good as my pup!
Well, I didn't drive 13 hours just to shoot once!

Once again, the 20 scored.
Hoping to get back out there this fall to my spot and find good numbers of blue grouse.
