Very nice Idahoguy, I really like the wolf, that's what's missing in my place!

Thanks I hope you get a bunch of wolves in your north Idaho area this year

There are plenty of wolves, we see tracks almost daily when hunting, they try to get our dogs several times each season, it's literally a race between us and the wolves to get to our hounds first several times each season, we try to be careful but figure that eventually the wolves will get some of our hounds (knocking on wood hoping it doesn't happen). About a week ago wolves flanked the guys and hounds as they were coming out with a freshly taken bear. No doubt, if one of them had not literally been running not far behind the dogs, that day might have been a dark day!

We are still learning about wolves and hoping IDFG will continue to liberalize wolf hunting so hunters can be more successful (which they seem to be slowly doing). We need a year round wolf season in the more remote units.

My son and I both are members and we both feel that the single biggest thing anyone can do to help manage wolves in Idaho is to support this organization: https://www.foundationforwildlifemanagement.org/

Quote
TIRED OF WOLVES DESTROYING YOUR WILDLIFE?

F4WM has saved an estimated 50,000 elk, moose, and deer, with science-based predator control.

F4WM is financially responsible for 79% of all wolves trapped in Idaho in the 2015-2016 season.

F4WM brings those who want wolves managed-Idaho Fish & Game, outdoor enthusiests, hunters, and ranchers,-together with those who have the ways and means to get the job done.

My son knows a few of the trappers and they simply cannot afford to trap many wolves without financial help. F4WM reimburses trappers and hunters so much per wolf for their costs, if you are not already a member you should check them out.

My apologies to everyone for the  :jacked:

Back to the topic!
I do hope to get a wolf for myself, I think I would do a similar mount as yours or add a wolf on the floor next to my wife's elk/cougar mount!

 I am aware of that group and have done some wolf trapping in the past but you are right it is a huge time money commitment. Thanks for the reminder I need to get involved again.i am pretty sure you are guiding where we used to chase a lot of bears so I know the risk you guys are fighting up there with your dogs. That’s why I hope you get a bunch this year! Cool man cave a wolf would be the finishing touch  I think idfg is doing a good job they seem to add more wolf opportunities as quick as they can without getting sued by the greenies
