Well, got some fluids changed and battery charged, she fired up and ran like a top first try! As luck would have it a buddy bought a storage unit full of big block parts (and a GTO) so I have a hookup on all the little things it needs mechanically. Good start to the project!

Awesome news! What would you ultimately like to do with the car?

I've had one in storage for 10 years that I raced a little when I was younger. Its the only car I've gotten pulled over in just because the officers wanted to talk cars.

Not quite sure what the end goal is for it yet. It is a perfect example of a survivor car so we might do all the mechanical stuff, clean up the interior a bit and clear coat it as is for now. It definitely got a lot of attention at the little show at DQ tonight with many comments about the condition for an unrestored car. Kind of leaning towards that and saving up for a nice paint/body job in a handful of years. Mostly I want it to be 100% reliable, with no mechanical issues(dreaming I know) that we can just jump in and go. Slowly but surely it will get there!

Wife was like a kid on Christmas when I came around the corner this morning as she had no clue I was bringing her home today. A couple of tears shed and away we went up to Deception Pass with our annual anniversary stop at the Shrimp Shack for some fish and chips. Carb needs attention first and foremost, as well as an HEI setup to get rid of the points system. It only died on us once due to a stuck needle in the carb and I’m guessing unhappy distributor. She’s running a little rich and a little out of time but all in all a successful trip!

Bought from my step dad 2 years ago.  His best friend of 41 years.  Started the restoration this past winter.   Hope to have paint by fall.

Has a 307 in it right now.  My dad had a guy rebuild the engine for him a long time ago and the 327 that was in it disappeared.  Didn't  figure it out until a water pump went out and he went to replace it.  Oh well.

The car was totaled at one point in time.  The guy my dad bought it from rebuilt it.  There was nothing from the firewall forward at that time.  The guy did a good job as most everything appears to be from a 67.

I plan to drop a 427 in it right before the paint.

Here's a factory 427 4 speed car that my dad did about 10 years ago.  Fun car to drive but hot as heck with that big block.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
