All long week long it said I was unsuccessful for the Big Game Combo. Now it says I drew an elk permit.  :dunno:  Hopefully this stays. I think they just got tired of me checking every 5 minutes.  :chuckle:

 Successful
2017 ELK PERMIT
- 620-20 was your 1st choice
Not Successful
2017 GENERAL - BIG GAME COMBO

Still down for me. I'm hoping the drawing is soon finalized & I land the elk permit I think I drew.

Just got this from their Facebook page:

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks

In the category of “when things can go wrong …” Good news is we’ve got the drawing done for our elk permits. Bad news is our website is down. We apologize for the inconvenience. We’ll post something here on Facebook as soon as the website is back up. Thanks for your passion and your patience.

Congrats! Drew general big game combo but will more than likely turn it back in since I struck out on deer and elk permits.

From Montana today:

License Drawing Update
There is little to offer except hang on for a bit.  The system collapsed and according to Hank Worsech, Bureau Chief of Licensing, they have been working on it to get it fixed.  Please be patient and in a few days, will have the drawing sorted out.

What we do know
•   Non-resident licenses were over subscribed for the first time since 2010
•   The process for drawing licenses imploded and is being worked on now
•   Once the drawing for licenses is squared away the Dept. will draw permits
•   There will be split off and refunded licenses available at some point
•   Split off and Refunds will be provided to those who applied but were not drawn in the first go around
•   IF there are licenses left over there will be an on-line first come first served basis. We will keep you informed of that opportunity in advance

I hope they redraw, at first it said I drew a bull permit, 4 hours later it said big game combo not selected, last night it said I had a deer tag. I have 12 points and would have over 20 if they hadnt started collecting points 12 years ago.

So if I am understanding this correctly, I was selected for a big game combo (didn't apply for special permits) and now there is the potential that I will have it taken away in the redraw?

The Montana Fish and Game website currently says this:

The wait is over. Resident and nonresident hunters can now use MyFWP to check their drawing results for Montana's deer and elk permits.

So there must not be a redraw?

Still good, thank God.  I assume hard copies of licences go out in the mail in the next few weeks?
