Double doubles!
« on: May 08, 2017, 09:23:13 AM »
I just got my 2015 buck back from the taxi. He has some good company sitting next to my 2013 buck. My wife isn't super excited about having them in the  living room, but I assured her they would grow on her!  I still can't believe how lucky I am to get these two deer.  I usually hunt the late archery pretty hard but I don't consider myself to be a great hunter by any means. Here is a link to the story on my 2013 buck if anyone is interested in hearing it again.

I didn't do a write up on the 2015 buck.  He was a roller coaster ride of events that included blind ass luck, a bad shot, and a very long track/recovery.  Both bucks were general season, archery, and public land. Both scored in the low to mid 160's. I doubt I'll ever top either of these two deer but I'm going to try!

Good Lord....
:fire.:

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Those are two great bucks.  The odds of shooting one are long but two of them?  Talk about against all odds.  Way to go and thanks for posting.
