Should be much better this year with a full month to hunt. I think before it was only a week or less.

I'm in with 18 points.  Not sure how to calculate the odds. :dunno: :o

I got the pencil out and did the math as I was curious for myself. Advancing each applicant's points by 1 from last year except the guy who drew with 21 and the other who drew with 5, and adding 70 in at 1 point like it was last year: your 18 points gives you a 1.2% chance this year, so that's a 1 in 83 chance. As good as it gets here.

If you want the 1 in 4 type odds look to change our system like Idaho's.

That's better odds than what I was thinking.  Slim but with a little luck.......

I don't have the # of permits to # of applicants but there were multiple permits that were 100% in Idaho this year and less than 10 under 5%.... but all those % are for residents.

yup if your a resident over here there are some very obtainable moose tags. like you say some are 100% draw odds and some decent hunts. I haven't drawn one yet but I've also never put in for one. probably start next year playing the moose game. you only get one in a life time so I never wanted to draw a year it wouldn't be worth burning the chance.

The odds in Idaho vary with each unit, but most are in the 1 in 3 to 1 in 10 range. There are even some wilderness hunts that go under subscribed most years.

Good luck LOKI, that is a good unit to hunt!

Last year they were training right in the heart of the prime areas to hunt. Pray that this isn't the case this year and you will have a great hunt.
