Thanks for the replies... we talk about looser lounges and non draws... I have 25 bull and 25 quality bull points... I took the ghost for quality bull but can't draw with 25.. from what I see I'm in the top 9 people in the state... maybe next year. I went 0-13.
If you can see it....... you can shoot it.

I know a gal that drew a quality bull tag with 28 points this year. She was awarded 10 points some years back for turning in a poacher. Should be a fun hunt with the smoke pole.

23 including this years point, 23 goat 23 sheep,23 moose, 23 quality elk
this shows how messed up the system is. Best of luck in the future

Got that right.Im at 18 points will have 19 going in next year for all OIL permits. Thinking about going Idaho draw instead next year. I cant justify to continue to put in here in WA when high point holders odds of drawing actually go down every year

When I think back I just laugh, when I had 8 points I called a biologist who worked the Margaret unit.  I thought for sure w 8 points I was drawing, no doubt!!!  Lol, 14 years later still trying, of course I changed my choice from the Margaret to the blues when I hit 10 points.  I was 23 or 24 last time I drew a quality elk permit, 48 in a couple weeks. Sad for a resident
“In common with”..... not so much!!

A few people probably drew margaret with 6pts at the time and have drawn a blues tag since then.

The hard core Idaho/Montana hunters will probably cringe or cyber attack me when I say this....But..... lets say screw you to this state and go somewhere else! Like Idaho with no Points for Deer / Elk........Or MT where you can buy the combo tag damn near OTC now......I dont have nearly the points some of you guys have and its depressing for me that I'm still 8-10 yrs away! Or more.....

NR special pernits are limited to 10% or less in most states so your odds aren't always better. Now idaho residents have pretty good odds at some good tags! I bet there's quite a few tags in idaho that are better than washington quality hunts and easier to draw, even as a NR.

I don't like to spread this word too much but my odds of drawing a sheep tag in most units are better than drawing most of the premium deer, elk or really any buck antelope tags here in Idaho as a resident.

My brother and I put in for the same quality elk hunt, I had 25 points and he had 20.... He drew the tag and I didn't. I am going on the hunt with him so I am pretty excited even though once again I cannot draw a damn thing.

As long as you're willing to forgo applying for any deer, elk, or antelope tags in your state until you kill your sheep.

We started putting in for permits at the beginning and my Dad has yet to draw a Bull tag yet. We draw Cow tags bout every 3-4 years.
